We are Jennifer and Scott Thompson. Along our 30 year journey together we’ve found a passion for whiskey and its vibrant community. We also love learning and teaching. We created Copper Widow™ to unite these interests and connect with the whiskey curious, fellow enthusiasts, and knowledge seekers like you.

Copper Widow offers whiskey education opportunities, including engaging tastings, comprehensive courses, and personalized consultation services.

Whether you are hosting a private gathering or planning a corporate function, we collaborate with you to organize a bespoke whiskey tasting, guiding your guests through the fundamentals of whiskey appreciation and styles. We also host curated tastings tastings of our own.

We’re also instructors, teaching whiskey classes from respected institutions. We present courses covering the history, production and aging of a broad variety of whiskey styles such as Bourbon, Scotch, and Irish whiskey. We teach students to apply their senses to whiskey appreciation. In a change of pace, we even have a class on Gin.

These programs are particularly valuable for professionals within, or aspiring to join, the restaurant and beverage industry. This includes hospitality staff, employees of distilleries, or whiskey investors. Our student body also includes whiskey enthusiasts and curious individuals who are just beginning their exploration of the world of whiskey.
